Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara: Distance: 270kms, approximately 5 hours drive. Your driver-guide will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi at 7:00 am. Depart Nairobi towards Narok Town, passing through the scenic Great Rift Valley Escarpment. Your safari journey leads you to Maasai Mara Game Reserve, delving into the heartland of the Maasai Tribe, renowned for their preservation of culture and traditions. The Mara boasts spectacular landscapes and is home to Kenya’s most diverse wildlife. Upon arrival at Maasai Mara, enjoy a sumptuous lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge. At 3:00 pm, commence an afternoon Game drive, extending into the late evening, culminating in dinner and overnight stay at Mara Sopa Lodge.
Day 2: Full day in Maasai Mara. Spend the entire day immersed in Maasai Mara, Kenya’s premier game reserve offering prime opportunities to encounter “The Big Five” – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and elephant. In addition to these majestic creatures, witness an array of wildlife including wildebeests, zebras, antelopes, giraffes, jackals, hyenas, and a myriad of bird species. Game drives offer flexibility; opt for picnic lunch boxes for a full day exploration or engage in early morning and late afternoon drives. Additionally, you have the option to visit a local Maasai village (at an extra cost of US$25 per person, payable directly to the community). Day 3: Mara – Nakuru: Distance 330kms, 5 to 6 hours. Begin the day with a final morning game drive, soaking in the breathtaking vistas of Maasai Mara. Afterward, enjoy breakfast and depart the Maasai Mara Game Reserve bound for Nakuru via Narok town. Arrive at Nakuru Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Conclude the day with dinner and overnight stay at Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
